The Oregon Middle School State Championship (OMSSWC) began in 1998 at Woodburn High School with regional qualifiers added in 2006. Each regional is ran as “open” tournaments with the top placers from each region qualifying for the state tournament the following weekend. The girls state tournament was added in 2018 with girls regionals added in 2022. Beginning in 2024, the Willamette regional and state tournaments will now be hosted at West Albany HS.
